I was asked for a serial number on a guitar that I have for sale. Should I give this information out. I have discribed the item completely, except. Displaying the Serial Number Behind the Date Excel handles dates and times numerically. The numbers for dates range from 1 to 2958465, with 1 indicating January 1, 1900, and 2958465 indicating December 31, 9999.
Yes, there are lists that compare serial number to when the lens was made. A potential buyer can also check to make sure it is a US lens, very important for warranty work.As far as stolen lenses, I have heard that Nikon maintains a list of stolen lenses and will never service them even for a price.

So I am not exactly sure what could be done.Since you are selling the item and are presumably the original owner or can produce documentation from where you bought the lens from none of this is a worry. Also, you should have already registered your lens with Nikon. If not, no problem as they won't do warranty work without the original receipt.Why do all answers have to be so rude? Like I did something wrong or something.

They can also use that serial number to vote for the next election.If it was me, no way I would provide serial number, heck I think if it was me, I wouldn't even disclose what brand of lens that I was selling.LOL LOL LOL!!!I always include the serial number in my Ebay lens auctions. Heck I am totally honest and give any and all pertinent info ( I take great photos from all angles etc) so the buyer has all that they need to make a decision. As a buyer that's what I'm looking for from a seller.
