I purchased an authentic Cartier watch several years ago on eBay from a seller with very high feedback. Though I noticed there were scratches on the underside of the watch, the seller included detailed pictures on the original listing advising that the watch was not stolen.I recently went into the jewelry store to have the battery replaced and walked out feeling the watch was definitely stolen. The clerk recorded my own information (making me feel like the theif!!) and I walked out feeling awful.

Look for a small watch repair shop in your area, they will evaluate your Cartier watch for you. Looking for a specific pair of cartier optical wood frame glasses the serial number is g015667g.
I have looked online and can't find any information on how to investigate if this watch is, indeed, stolen. Most all of the serial numbers are readable.
